A Beautiful Day in the Waiverhood

Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in. It’s none other than my partner in crime, my fellow comatose commander; mr. dozy deliveryman. Against better judgement and without further adieu, here he is with a special delivery on a Friday morning of all days? The help is free so I can’t complain. But maybe we should be checking the blood alcohol level of more delivery men?
Alright, the mailman is back and he’s about to deliver some fantasy knowledge to you. All through the back door, so be ready to handle it. Don’t you worry I got packages for shallow, medium, and deep (doors) leagues.
Those backdoor deliveries are the same way I get into the playoffs…sneaking in there at the last minute when the current 6th place manager has let their guard down. Just go on to wreak havoc on all the spreadsheet warriors. You don't need a pristine, perfectly managed roster to take home the trophy—you just need to buy a ticket to the dance and let the beautiful, unhinged chaos of a short sample size do the rest (If you play weekly H2H like we do that is!)
But enough with the nonsense…it’s almost the end of June. Does your roster look like a dumpster fire inside a trainwreck? Or more like a steamroller with a boost of nitrous? Either way, I got mail for you. Mostly flyers though. Everyone loves flyers

NATHAN LUKES (OF, TOR – 2% rostered)

Knock knock
Who’s there?
Lukes
Lukes who? seriously wtf? Anyone? You there, in the back? He’s sitting at only 2% owned. And frankly, I’m appalled. He’s hit safely in 19 of his last 21 games since coming off injury at the end of May. Not only that, he’s batting .360 over that time with a .910 OPS. The force to get on base is strong. The power and speed? Not so much. I get it, he’s not for the mainstreamers. But for you deep leaguers/AL only types - he’s virtually an every day player and batting at the top of a Jays line up that is slowly heating up. He usually keeps his Ks in check (top 9% last year, not qualified on savant for this year), so he likely has a little more appeal in deep points leagues. You can get in at the ground floor, for the low price of free. And flyers of course.
TJ RUMFIELD (1B, COL – 19% rostered)

What else do you want from the come back king? I'll give you something to talk about. Let's do it 1st base style. Rummy-Ho has been a steady presence in the Rox lineup. TJ Rumfield that is. The rookie first baseman has been putting up a nice little campaign for himself in the mile high city. Up to 19 % owned, now is the time to hop on his shaft. Rummy is currently hitting in the 3 hole, meanwhile, belting out 3 dingers, to go along 6 runs and 8 rbi in his last 8 games. There’s a bit of a trend in the batters I’m recommending here. High average, mild-moderate power kind of guys. Yohoho and a bottle of Rumfield is in the top 15% for his K% and sports an .816 OPS on the year. I sure could go for a nice Rummy and coke right now, especially if you’re in 14+ team leagues.
TREVOR ROGERS (SP, BAL – 50% rostered)

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. A beautiful day in the neighborhood, won’t you be mine? Overdone? Most likely, but now is a good time to take on Trevor Rogers to be your neighbor. Mister June looks like he has finally found himself. Mr. Vest posted a 1.81 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 103 strikeouts in 109 innings last year. That's something. I'll admit he has a slow start to the season for Baltimore, but after all the disbelievers dropped Rogers, I was there to scoop him up. He’s seemingly flipped a switch since the start of June – 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 10:4 K:BB ratio. Still only owned in 50% of leagues, you may want to take a flier on this fallen star; there’s signs of life in the Jolly Roger. However, he is in the bottom 1% of the league for max exit velocity. The Ks have somewhat dried up…It’s not all roses at this stage of the season, just take a look at the waiver wire. There’s bound to be a few flaws with these recommendations at this point in the season.
We're getting closer and closer to the finish line. You have to be getting better and better to be great. Mid season moves are ever so important. Don't be afraid to add that piece or drop a bum who you believed in. It's now or never you mind goblins. Take care of yourselves
